This new phase of human life is enabled by technology. It is in fact the watershed between the part of the population that is resistant to technological progress and those who embrace the hi-tech road, overcoming concerns and fears related to the advent of new solutions such as quantum computing, the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence.
To observe this phenomenon and interpret the scope and consequences of Cultural Speciation we have chosen four perspectives, all linked together in a very precise order:
- the first group of factors considers the aspects related to automation, giving continuity to the transformation path of production systems together with the clear optimization of process control and the acquisition of new data;
- the second concerns basic economic prosperity, perceived by individuals through job security and material living standards;
- the third and fourth groups operate less individually and more socially. We are talking about sustainability, both economic and environmental, and equity, which is reflected in the extent to which all members benefit from their rights and have equal access to opportunities.
All these scenarios, with their branches, are oriented in one direction: a turning point for a new chapter in the history of humanity. A chapter that is being born today and to which we can all contribute starting from the questions suitable for the search for a shared answer.
